Megan Boyd Framed Fly "King River"An excellent framed salmon fly by the legendary Scottish tyer Megan Boyd, entitled "King River" and tied on a 9 0 gut eye hook. Framed in a 8" x 6" shadowbox. There is a note of provenance on the back of the box from Paul Schmookler who purchased this fly in the 1980's from Jamie Maxtone Graham, one of Boyd's representatives in the United Kingdom.
For sale here we have a few spools of vintage Belding Corticelli #5840 (brown) silk winding thread
chosen because of its stiffness
Currently set up for LHW but easily convertible to RHW
Despite the weight and length
The stripping guide is slightly bent as well
For sale here is a Hardy Flyweight fly reel in near mint condition
2 1/2" diameter with 7/8" wide spool
and boasts a slightly faster action than my other models on account of the flaming and heat-treating process
Some mild rubbing to the sideplates but the frame and reel overall are in great shape
The node pattern is two opposed
